Congratulations to Ally Whitlock for her successful entry in this week’s Photo of the Week contest, entitled ‘Festival’, taken with a 5D mkII, with 24-70 @70mm, ISO 2000, f5.6 at 1/8 second, hand-held.
‘Photographing Greenbelt Arts Festival each August Bank Holiday is one of the highlights of our year,’ says Ally, ‘and this year’s festival was no different. Four days of being out and about with our cameras, pushing our creativity and experiencing a truly fabulous festival. On the Friday night there was a fire show. The performers did all sorts of tricks with fire and flames. The only light to work with was from the flames themselves, the rest of the field was pitch black. There was an element of anticipation as to what was coming next. This shot was part of the finale. Most of the year, we shoot weddings and business portraits, and so we love doing something a little different, even if the torrential rain of Sunday and Monday made those days a total washout and we ended up soaking wet and covered in mud!’
